Quality Assurance

We follow a stringent recruitment procedure to ensure that all of our workers have the relevant qualifications and experience necessary for the service that they will provide.

This includes:

  • Regular supervision meetings between each care worker & their line managers
  • Careful checks on service users’ files, time sheets & other records
  • Detailed person-centred care plans are kept up to date.
  • Regular reviews & risk assessments are done to adjust care plans responding to changing needs and preferences.
  • High levels of involvement of relatives & carers are taken into account in making decisions on a person’s care.

For the Employees:

  • All staff must have NVQ qualification in care with relevant experience.
  • Enhanced Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) checks.
  • A full health declaration.
  • Full working history, along with detailed reference checks.
  • Annual reviews with relevant registration bodies to ensure fitness to practice.

Monitoring Methods :

  • We send out User’s Satisfaction Surveys (questionnaire forms) for service users and carers to complete. The survey/questionnaire is to ensure that the centre continues to further its aims by providing access to service users according to their choices, that the centre remains efficient and cost effective, that the changing needs of the service users are respected and gaps in the service provision identified
  • Each service user has a record book in which we record daily activity, behaviour and how we supported or the action we took. The home/centre record book is to create positive working partnerships with parents/carers, support workers, share information and look for ways to support service users to progress. It is also to foster good centre/home links and encourage parents, support workers to become active partners in the development of that process.
  • We have a complaint procedure.
  • We review care plans holistically to ensure services meet needs.
  • Workers’ performance is closely monitored through supervision, appraisal, and training provisions are offered.
  • Regular meetings with funding authorities to discuss how best we can work in partnership to enable service users to be independent
  • As an evidence-based outcome measure we use the Outcomes Star Chart.
